I learned how to crochet way back when I was about 20 years old. My mother-in-law taught me how to do a Granny Square and I used up every bit of yarn I could find. She told me I had a very nice tight stitch and eventually would do very well.
Move forward and I have two daughters that I started making hats for. They'd always come home from school with no hat, saying "a friend like it so I gave it to them." I made lots of hats. Even after college and into their work I was making hats.
Now I sell hats because of the girls' encouragement and support. They wear a hat to work and someone wants their own custom ordered hat and scarf set.
